"I
am delighted to announce these key community focused and full-time
appointments at the Larisoro Mine.
"As a company we are firmly committed in supporting our local
communities, and we understand that in order to achieve our
long-term goals at the Larisoro Mine, we must maintain our fully
inclusive and transparent approach in line with international ESG
standards and at all times work closely in partnerships with local
communities and all stakeholders.
"If we are to contribute to the economic,
social and cultural well-being of the local communities, then the
appointment of members of the community in roles such as this will
provide both a platform for the members of the communities to voice
their opinions, facilitate continuous engagements and serve as an
effective link between the community and ourselves as well as to
ensure that we deliver on agreed community development
objectives, goals and the implementation of key
projects.
"Over the past two months at the Larisoro Mine it has been
pleasing to see the active involvement of the community and the
positive impact that we are having. Over 88 members of
the immediate surrounding communities have gained part-time
employment at the Larisoro Mine and through collaboration with
the Nakwamor Community Based Organisation, we have
implemented a
rotation policy to ensure employment of casual workers from all
nearby communities. A further 7 full-time skilled workers have been
employed at the Larisoro Mine, all from the immediate surrounding
communities, and more full-time appointments are planned in the
coming months.
"Marula is committed to not only formulating policies but to
actually implement and deliver on its commitments to
ensure maximum,
inclusive and sustainable socio-economic benefits are provided to
the communities that are located near its mining operations. I am
very pleased to see the progress being made so early on at the
Larisoro Manganese Mine and know much more is to
come."

Directors of Marula are responsible for the contents of this
