Ordinary Shares Listing Announcement


Genbel South Africa Limited ('Genbel')

Further to the announcement 4 October regarding the application being made to
the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for the listing of
1,097,550 new ordinary shares of 10 South African cents, to the Official List,
dealings are expected to commence on 10th October 2000.

These shares fall to be allotted to shareholders of Genbel who have elected to
receive a capitalisation award in lieu of a final cash dividend. The date of
issue of the new shares was 3 October 1999. The shares subject to this issue
will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary shares
from the date of the listing.
