Temporary postponement of second interim distribution

The joint liquidators of the Company declared a first interim distribution on
16 June 2000 of US$ 0.70 per US$ 0.65 Ordinary Share. At that time it was
anticipated that a second interim distribution of approximately US$ 0.40 per
share would be declared in July 2000.

The joint liquidators, however, have recently received an approach from a
third party with a proposal which may lead to enhanced shareholder value. In
these circumstances, the joint liquidators have agreed to defer the
declaration of the second interim distribution for a period of one week in
order to allow the third party a short period of time to formulate specific
proposals.

A further announcement to the shareholders will be made in due course.
