THE BOARD OF CLARION HOUSING GROUP ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF RUTH COOKE AS GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE

The process of selecting a new Group Chief Executive for Clarion Housing Group has concluded and Ruth Cooke has been appointed, following the retirement of Keith Exford CBE.

Ruth joins Clarion from Midland Heart, where she has served as Chief Executive since 2012, having previously been the organisation's Finance Director. Prior to Midland Heart, Ruth, a qualified accountant, was Group Director of Resources at Knightstone Housing Association and Chief Finance Officer at Anchor Trust.

Commenting on the announcement, Clarion Housing Group's Chairman, Neil Goulden, said:

"Ruth Cooke will be joining us at a critical phase of Clarion's development. She, along with her colleagues on the Clarion Group Executive team, has the energy, drive and experience to support our commitment to deliver first class services to our communities, alongside our ambition to build 50,000 new homes over ten years and we look forward to welcoming her."

Ruth will join the Group on 1 April 2018, and will take over as CEO on 6 April following Keith Exford's retirement.
