Transamerica Finance Corporation sells consumer loan portfolio

Transamerica Finance Corporation ("TFC"), a member of the international AEGON
insurance group (NYSE symbol: AEG), has sold a USD 530 million portfolio of
consumer loans to a US-based affiliate of Goldman Sachs Group.  The sale was
completed at approximately book value, resulting in an immaterial effect on
AEGON's shareholders' equity and earnings.  The majority of the proceeds will be
used by TFC to redeem outstanding debt.
