                    Chiroscience Group plc ("the Company")                    

The Company has been notified that Dr J M Padfield and Dr A J M Richards have
today exercised options over ordinary shares in the Company and have sold
sufficient ordinary shares resulting from option exercises to meet the
exercise payments and estimated future tax liability.

Dr J M Padfield has exercised 333,000 options at the exercise price of 150p
and 340,000 options at the exercise price of 127p.  Dr Padfield has sold
502,000 ordinary shares at 220p to meet the exercise price of these options
and estimated future tax liability.  As a result of these transactions, Dr
Padfield's shareholding in the Company has increased by 171,000 ordinary
shares and now totals 179,958 ordinary shares.

Dr A J M Richards has exercised 73,333 options at the exercise price of 150p
and 17,953 options at the exercise price of 127p.  Dr Richards has sold 69,714
ordinary shares at 220p to meet the exercise price of these options and
estimated future tax liability.  As a result of these transactions, Dr
Richards' shareholding in the Company has increased by 21,572 ordinary shares
and now totals 330,786 ordinary shares

This exercise of options by Dr Padfield represents the first time options have
been exercised by him since the flotation of the Company in February 1994 . Dr
Richards has previously exercised options in June 1996 and in  August 1998
consequent upon the sale of a 30% shareholding in Chirotech Technology Ltd to
Ascot plc.
