APR Energy Announces 40MW Cross-Border Deal in Mali
APR Energy, a global leader in fast-track power, today announces
that it has signed a new 40MW cross-border contract with the
government of Mali to address expected power shortages in the
country. APR Energy's turnkey solution, comprising diesel power
modules, will be installed and operated in Senegal. The power
generated will feed into the OMVS interconnected grid that connects
Mali, Senegal, and Mauritania.
The deal represents APR Energy's first ever cross-border
agreement, and the company's first sale of power to Mali. The
project further reinforces APR Energy's commitment to West Africa,
with other recent projects across the region including Senegal,
Burkina Faso, and Gabon.
This brings APR Energy's total new contract wins this year to
593MW (compared to 569MW of contract wins in the whole of 2012), in
addition to contract extensions of 111MW year to date. The current
order book (backlog of business) now stands at over 14,439
MW-months, up 25% from 31 Dec 2012.
John Campion, CEO said, "We continue to see significant
opportunity for large-scale, fast-track power projects, as
evidenced in the Mali win and our recent Libya contract expansion.
Our state-of-the-art fuel-efficient diesel power modules enable us
to provide highly competitive fuel efficiency guarantees and an
overall lower cost - without sacrificing our kw/h pricing. This
proved to be a deciding factor in our recent win in Indonesia, and
we expect it to be an important competitive advantage as we
continue to gain significant share in the large-scale fast-track
power market."
