Alexon Group Plc appoints David Adams as Chairman

The Board of Alexon Group plc ('Alexon' or the 'Group') today announces that Richard Handover will step down as Chairman on 31(st) May 2011 when he will also retire from the Board. David Adams, currently a Non-Executive Director, will assume the role of Chairman from this date.

David is currently Chairman of Jessops plc and was previously Deputy CEO and Group Finance Director at House of Fraser plc. Prior to that he held Finance Director roles at Asprey and Texas Homecare and senior finance roles at the Burton Group. David is currently a Non-Executive Director at JJB Sports plc, Halfords plc and the British Retail Consortium (Trading), as well as being a Non-Executive Director and Trustee at Walk the Walk, a breast cancer charity.

Richard Handover, CBE, Chairman, commented: "On behalf of the Board, I would like to congratulate David on his appointment as Chairman of Alexon. David has a first class track record and has considerable experience in the retail sector which is proving invaluable to Alexon. I wish him the best of luck in his new role."

David Adams commented: "I am delighted that my colleagues on the Board of Alexon have offered me the role of Chairman. In the six months since I joined as a Non-Executive Director, I have come to realise Alexon's potential and look forward to working with the Board and the senior management to help the Group successfully complete its turnaround."

There are no further details required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13 in connection with David Adams' appointment.
