New performance manager for Germany operations

 
Basel, 1 September 2008. Alexander Tourneau, former Head of Enterprise
Development and Controlling at Deutscher Ring and member of the board of
Deutscher PensionsRing AG, is returning to the Baloise Group. In his capacity as
Performance Manager at Group Head Office, he will, with immediate effect, be
assuming responsibility for coordinating Germany operations from the perspective
of the holding company.
 
 
 
In order to improve the consistency between management processes, Alexander
Tourneau will, at the soonest possible date, also take on the offices of
Chairman of the Board of Basler Deutschland as well as of both Deutscher Ring
Leben (Life) and Deutscher Ring Sach (Property).
 
Alexander Tourneau succeeds Martin Kampik, former Performance Manager for
Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. In his capacity as Performance Manager,
Martin Kampik will coordinate the further expansion of business activities in
Austria, Croatia and Serbia and devote himself to the continued development of
these growth markets in collaboration with the local CEOs.
 
Brief profile of Alexander Tourneau
Dr. rer. oec. Alexander Tourneau (43) is a German national. He studied business
engineering and holds a doctorate in business management. From 1995 to 2002 he
was responsible for major projects in the banking and insurance sectors for
Boston Consulting Group. He joined the Baloise Group in 2003 as Head of
Enterprise Development and Controlling as well as CEO of Deutscher Ring
Beteiligungsholding GmbH. As a member of the board of Deutscher PensionsRing he
was responsible for finances and investments as of 2006. In 2007 he moved to UBS
Germany and subsequently to M.M.Warburg & CO. At both companies he was
responsible for developing business with institutional clients, in particular in
the insurance segment.
