Official Opening by Prime Minister and Update


Official Opening


Biofuels announces that its first biodiesel production plant, Teesside 1, was
officially opened today by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Tony Blair, MP.


Teesside 1, the largest such plant in the UK, has capacity to provide a quarter
of the UK's Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation 2010 target for diesel.


Update


The Board is pleased to confirm that it continues to make good progress on
ramping-up production to nameplate capacity.


For June, the Board expects the plant to have achieved a production run-rate of
58% of its 250,000 tonnes per annum nameplate capacity.


All production has been shipped to customers in the UK and mainland Europe at
prices in line with expectations.


Mike Buzzacott, Chairman of Biofuels, comments:

This underscores the Government's recognition of the vital role biodiesel will
play in reducing greenhouse gases and meeting Kyoto targets.
