("Biofuels" or "the Group")

Business Update

Ahead of today's re-convened Annual General Meeting, which is taking place at
2.00pm at the Group's head office in Billingham, the Group is giving the
following update:

"Since the last statement on 8 September, the plant has continued to run at
varying rates of production capacity.

"During the last week, production has fallen marginally outside industry
specifications. We have therefore reduced rates and put in place a temporary
process to return the off-spec product to on-spec quality.  This process
requires a brief period of storage.

"We are working towards a permanent solution and, in the meantime, the Group,
with its commitment to quality, has taken the prudent step of temporarily
delaying bio-diesel deliveries. We expect deliveries to resume progressively
from next week.

"As reported on 8 September, demand for bio-diesel is growing strongly, with
demand outstripping currently available supply in the UK.

"The Group also confirms that it remains within the banking facilities that were
agreed in May and expects to continue to do so.
