CLOSE ENHANCED COMMODITIES FUND II LIMITED

The Board of Close Enhanced Commodities Fund II Limited (the "Company") regret to advise that within the payment process of the maturity proceeds on one of the five Medium Term Notes held by the Company an element of withholding tax has been made by one of the institutions involved in that payment process. Accordingly the company does not yet hold the full amount of monies required to pay redemption proceeds of GBP1.39 per share.

Your Board and the Investment Manager are making urgent enquiries of the validity or otherwise of such a deduction in the hope that it will be reversed and one single redemption payment can be made to all shareholders next week. If collection of the missing amount is not to be resolved promptly then a significant partial payment of redemption proceeds will be organised.

The Board sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused by this unfortunate event arising so late in the life of

the Company.   A further announcement will be made on or before Tuesday afternoon 2 July 2013.
