CLOSE ENHANCED COMMODITIES FUND II LIMITED (the "Company")

Further to the Company's announcement to Shareholders released on 28 June 2013, the Board regrets to advise that the validity of the withholding tax deducted from the maturity proceeds of one of the five Medium Term Notes held by the Company has not yet been resolved. Accordingly the Company still does not hold the full amount of monies required to pay redemption proceeds of GBP1.39 per share.

Your Board and the Investment Manager has resolved to distribute an interim redemption payment to shareholders of GBP1.378 per share, such amount representing the total proceeds received to-date by the issuers of the five Medium Term Notes held by the Company.

The interim redemption payment is expected to be paid to shareholders within 5 business days.

The interim redemption payment is to be made by cheque, made payable to the relevant holder, or in the case of joint holders to such relevant joint holders. Such payments are sent at the risk of the holder(s) to the address of the holder, or first named joint holder, as it appears on the Company's Register of Members or by such alternative method as previously communicated to the Company's Registrar.

The Board sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused by this unfortunate event arising so late in the life of the Company. A second redemption payment will be made once the withholding tax issue has been satisfactorily resolved.
