ATLANTA, Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ellenville
Regional Hospital, a New
York-based, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH), has
selected Craneware's Chargemaster Toolkit – CAH solution to
automate its chargemaster management processes. Craneware, Inc.,
the market leader in automated revenue integrity solutions, today
announced the selection, which will help ensure accurate data for
Ellenville's forthcoming
electronic health record (EHR) implementation.
Craneware's Chargemaster Toolkit – CAH is a web-based
chargemaster management solution designed and priced specifically
for CAHs. This application will provide Ellenville staff with easy access to all the
specific information required for successful coding and charge
line-item creation as well as current regulatory information.
Ellenville Regional Hospital is working toward a hospital-wide
EHR implementation with an ultimate goal of improving patient care
and qualifying for meaningful use under the HITECH Act. To achieve
potential financial performance improvement from implementing EHRs,
data transmitted via the EHR must translate into accurate charge
data.
"Strategically, we feel that we cannot efficiently implement an
EHR, and thereby achieve meaningful use and qualify for incentive
funds, without first ensuring the accuracy of chargemaster data,"
said Patricia Gavis, VP & CFO,
Ellenville Regional Hospital. "Craneware's Chargemaster Toolkit –
CAH offers a unique, affordable solution that will help us meet our
revenue goals, as well as compliance and reimbursement objectives.
Furthermore, it inspires much confidence that this solution was
developed specifically for use in CAHs, like Ellenville."
"Critical Access Hospitals face the same coding, charge-capture
and compliance issues as larger hospitals, but with a smaller IT
staff and budget. Craneware designed and priced this CAH-specific
version of Chargemaster Toolkit to meet the needs of this critical
segment of the market," said Keith
Neilson, CEO, Craneware. "We are thrilled to enable
forward-thinking hospitals, like Ellenville Regional Hospital, to
optimize legitimate reimbursement, ensure compliance and boost
operational efficiency."
One quarter of registered U.S. hospitals use Craneware Revenue
Integrity Solutions™. Craneware's Chargemaster Toolkit® is
ranked number one in the KLAS Revenue Cycle – Chargemaster
