Valmont Gets 48% Backing For Delta Offer; Extends Offer

U.S. engineering company Valmont Industries Inc. (VMI) said
Tuesday it has received backing for its takeover offer of U.K. firm
Delta PLC (DLTA.LN) from around 48% of shareholders.
The board of Delta, which makes road safety barriers, has backed
the 185 pence a share offer from Valmont, which values Delta at
GBP284.5 million.
On the first closing date of the offer Monday, Valmont said it
had received valid acceptances from Delta shareholders in respect
to around 48% of Delta's share capital.
The offer is being extended until April 28.
