DragonWave Concludes Patent License Agreement with NEC

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2007) - DragonWave Inc. ("DragonWave") (TSX:DWI)(AIM:DWI)
announced today that it has concluded a Patent License Agreement with NEC Corporation that provides
DragonWave with access to a wider pool of intellectual property as it extends its High Capacity
Wireless Ethernet portfolio. Under the agreement, DragonWave has licensed Canadian and U.S. digital
microwave radio ("DMR") patents and counterpart patents in other countries from NEC and both companies
have agreed not to assert their respective DMR patents against each other in the future. As part of
the Agreement, DragonWave will pay NEC a one time past release fee and an ongoing royalty payment. The
financial statements for the year ended February 28, 2007 and the quarter ended May 31, 2007 included
provisions for such payments.
