NEW ACCOUNTING REFERENCE DATE

Change of Accounting Reference Date

Dawson Holdings PLC ("Dawson" or the "Company") announces that its accounting reference date has been changed from 30 September to 31 August. Accordingly, the 12 month accounting period that would have ended on 30 September 2011 has been shortened to a 11 month accounting period ending 31 August 2011.

The shortened period is to bring the accounting reference dates of all companies in the Dawson group in line with the accounting reference date of Smiths News Holdings PLC ("Smiths News") following the successful acquisition of Dawson by Smiths News.
