The Board of Electric & General Investment Trust plc (the "Company") announces that, following a review of available options to address the persistent discount to net asset value at which the Company's shares trade, the Board proposes to wind up the Company and offer shareholders their choice of rolling over their investment into an open ended fund managed by Taube Hodson Stonex Partners LLP or realising their investment for cash. It is expected that further details of these proposals will be published as soon as practicable.
