                      HENDERSON FAR EAST INCOME TRUST PLC


The Company announces the allotment of 100,000 Ordinary Shares of 25p each fully
paid under its block listing facility. The issued share capital is now 
75,876,927.


These shares were issued for cash on 29 June 2005 at a price of 221.5p per
share. The net asset value per Ordinary Share at the close of business on 28
June 2005 was 209.0p.
