Gabe Battista and John Anderson Appointed to JumpTV's Board of Directors
Battista and Anderson Further Expand Board's Global Internet, Telecommunications
and Financial Expertise
TORONTO--(Marketwire - April 02, 2008) - JumpTV Inc. ("JumpTV" or the "Company")
(TSX: JTV) (AIM: JTV), a leader in broadcasting international television and
sports over the Internet, today announced the appointments of Gabe Battista and
John Anderson to the Company's board of directors.
Gabriel A. Battista, 63, has been an active player in the telecommunications
world for the past four decades. Most recently, Mr. Battista retired from his
role as chairman of the board of Talk America, where he previously served as
chief executive officer and led the effort to consider new strategic options for
the company resulting in the sale of Talk America to Cavalier Telephone, LLC.,
in 2006 for US$251 million. Mr. Battista also previously served as chief
executive officer of Network Solutions Inc. which, under his leadership, became
a public company on the NASDAQ in September 1997. Prior to this, Mr. Battista
was chief executive officer, president and chief operating officer of Cable &
Wireless, Inc., Vienna, Virginia. Additionally, Mr. Battista has held management
positions at US Sprint, GTE Telenet and The General Electric Company.
Today, Mr. Battista serves as a member of the board of trustees of Capitol
College and of the American University in Rome. Additionally he is currently a
director of TEOCO (The Employee Owned Company), Sentrillion, Inc., and Network
Alliance, Inc as well as a limited partner of Emerald Investment, NEA and
Valhalla II. Mr. Battista has, in the previous five years, been a director of
Talk America, Inc., OTG Software, INC., SCT Corp, and VIA.Net. Mr. Battista has
also served on JumpTV's advisory board since September 2006.
John R. Anderson, 62, has nearly 30 years of financial and corporate governance
experience including 14 years as a partner at Ernst & Young from 1979 to 1993.
It is the intention of the board to appoint Mr. Anderson as chair of the
Company's audit committee.
Mr. Anderson is currently the chief financial officer of each of Impax Energy
Services Income Trust; Tailwind Financial Inc., which went public in the United
States in April 2007 raising US$100 million; and LBBP Inc. Mr. Anderson has also
held a senior advisory position at MDS Capital Corp, a division of MDS Inc.,
from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Anderson currently serves as a director of Roots Canada
Ltd., chairman of the board of governors of Ridley College, and director and
chair of the audit committee, Canadian Medical Discoveries Fund Inc.

the telecommunications and Internet spaces along with Mr. Anderson's enormous
depth and scope of expertise in finance and accounting will serve to amplify the
Board's already considerable strengths in those areas," said Jordan Banks, chief

In parallel with these new appointments, M. Lorne Abony and Mr. Gary Slaight
will be stepping down from the board effective immediately.

The appointments to the board of directors are subject to the approval of the
Toronto Stock Exchange. Following approval of these appointments, Mr. Battista
and Mr. Anderson will each receive 100,000 Stock Appreciation Rights of the
Company, at an exercise price of US$0.64 per Stock Appreciation Right, vesting
monthly over a period of four years in accordance with JumpTV's Stock
Appreciation Rights Plan. Mr. Battista and Mr. Anderson additionally hold 65,000
and 15,000 common shares of the Company, respectively, personally or through
related parties.
With the new additions, JumpTV's Board of Directors consists of:
