                    Notice concerning the repurchase of shares

MARUWA announced the Board of Directors at the meeting on 14 November 2006 resolved the
repurchase of shares pursuant to the provisions of Article 165-3 and Article 156 of the Corporate
Law of Japan.  Details are as follows;

1. Reason for repurchase                      To implement flexible capital management in
                                              response to changes of business environment.
2. Details of repurchase
(1) Class of shares to be repurchased         Common stock
(2) Total number of shares to be repurchased  Up to 200,000 shares
                                              (% to total number of shares issued: 1.82%)
(3) Total amount of repurchase price          Up to 600 million yen
(4) Date of repurchase                        From 15 November 2006 to 31 May 2007
