London: 26 November, 2007:  The Company announces today that the following
Options over Ordinary Shares of 10p each in the capital of Monterrico Metals plc
have been granted to the Directors of Monterrico and also to the Directors of
its subsidiary company Minera Majaz S.A. (Peru):

Mr Richard Ralph - Chairman (Non-Executive)                               50,000

Mr Xiaodong Huang - Chief Executive Officer                              120,000

Ms Shan Shan (Susan) Li - Finance Director                                50,000

Mr Guobin Hu - Technical Director                                         50,000

Mr Wenzhou Huang - Non-Executive Director                                 30,000

Mr Ray Angus - Non-Executive Director                                     30,000

Mr Harry Cooper - Non-Executive Director                                  30,000


Directors of Minera Majaz S.A. (Peru):

Jian Wu - Director of Minera Majaz                                        40,000

Andrew Bristow - Director of Minera Majaz                                 40,000

Luis Chiang - Director of Minera Majaz                                    25,000


All these Options have an exercise price of 350p per share and are exercisable
after 26 November, 2010 for a period of seven years, ending on 26 November,
2017.
