    Solana Resources Limited ("Solana" or the "Company") - Director Resignation -
Mr. Joaquin Moreno-Uribe

    CALGARY and LONDON, March 14 /CNW/ - Solana Resources Limited
(TSX-V: SOR; AIM: SORL), announces today that Mr. Joaquin Moreno-Uribe will be
resigning from Solana's board of directors effective March 27, 2008.
Mr. Moreno-Uribe was recently honoured with, and accepted, a prestigious
invitation to be nominated as a candidate to join Ecopetrol's (the Colombian
state oil and gas company) board of directors. His nomination will be
presented for confirmation before Ecopetrol's AGM on March 27, 2008.
Unfortunately, as a condition of this appointment, Mr. Moreno is required to
resign from Solana's board.
    Solana would like to thank Mr. Moreno-Uribe for his outstanding
contributions to the Company over the past several years and wish him success
in his new role as a director of Ecopetrol.
    The Company will look to add a Colombia based director as a replacement
to Mr. Moreno-Uribe in the near future.
