           Strategic Retail plc ("Strategic Retail" or "the Company)

Strategic Retail announces that it has recently been advised by Mr. David Mond
that he is appealing against a disciplinary order made by one of his
professional bodies, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in
respect of a 1996 matter.


Mr. Mond has, therefore, decided that, prior to the final outcome of the matter,
it is in the best interests of the Company that he resign as a non-executive
director from the Board of  the Company with immediate effect.


Mr. Ian Currie, Chairman of Strategic Retail, thanked Mr. Mond for his part in
establishing the Company.




There being no further business, the meeting closed at 11.40 am.
