Leading Mexican cable television operator improves network
performance and guarantees Quality of Experience in voice, video
and data services MINNEAPOLIS, July 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Allot Communications (NASDAQ:ALLT), a leader in IP service
optimization solutions based on deep packet inspection (DPI), today
announced Mexico's Cablemas has selected Allot's carrier-grade
NetEnforcer bandwidth management devices to manage network traffic
and improve overall Quality of Service (QoS) for subscribers.
Cablemas selected Allot's NetEnforcer AC-2520 to deliver 5 Gbps
throughput devices, which rely on DPI technology and QoS
enforcement capabilities to provide customers with superior Quality
of Experience. Allot's solution enables Cablemas to pinpoint top
bandwidth consumers and create policies to allocate bandwidth on a
per-application basis. This ensures the optimal delivery of
services to all subscribers at all times. "Due to a substantial and
ongoing increase in bandwidth consumption, we needed to manage our
traffic more efficiently, and eliminate or 'shear' excessive and
harmful traffic, without reducing our Quality of Service," said
Arnoldo Meiselmann, COO for Cablemas. "By managing our bandwidth
with NetEnforcer, we are able to optimize the utilization of
existing resources and produce considerable savings." Cablemas is
the second-largest cable television operator in Mexico, based on
number of subscribers and homes reached, and the first in the
country to provide a bundled "Triple-Play" service package. It
serves more than 736,205 cable television subscribers, 200,000
high-speed internet subscribers, and 40,000 IP telephony lines.
Cablemas infrastructure includes a HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coax) and F.D.
(Fiber Deep) topology, enabling them to offer voice, video and data
services to subscribers, using DOCSIS and IP protocols. "As cable
providers expand their offerings, the ability to meet subscriber
expectations for each type of service is becoming increasingly
critical to success," said Vin Costello, vice president and general
manager of the Americas, Allot Communications. "Cablemas applies
the benefits of DPI technology in delivering bundled services and
executing a 'triple-play' business model." About Cablemas Cablemas
is the second-largest cable television operator in Mexico based on
number of subscribers and homes reached. As of March 31, 2007,
