NEW YORK, May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- McGraw-Hill Higher
Education today announced the winners of the Do More and Win!
student video competition. The contest, open to students piloting
the integration of McGraw-Hill Connect® and Blackboard Learn™ this
spring, considered original videos showcasing how technology is
improving learning and the student experience.
Students from James Madison
University, Liberty University
and Westmoreland Community College
were selected as first prize winners from more than 75 submitted
videos. The three winning students will each receive a $5,000 scholarship and their winning videos will
be featured on several McGraw-Hill
websites and social media channels.
An elite judging panel, which included top academicians, leading
third-party educational organizations, and members of the media
covering and influencing key issues in technology and education
selected the winners. Entries were judged on creativity,
originality and the number of votes received from the public. To
see all the winning videos and prizes visit the Do More and Win!
Website and YouTube channel.
"The Do More and Win! video contest provided a fun and unique
way for student voices to be heard, and for them to use their
creativity to show how deeply digital education is tied to
important student outcomes, including increasing engagement and
improving academic results," said Sharon
Loeb, Senior Director of Strategic Marketing, McGraw-Hill
Higher Education. "We received a great response from students
participating in the McGraw-Hill Connect and Blackboard pilot, and
we thank all of the contestants for sharing their enthusiasm and
energy."
