Software and services company BMC Software (BMC) recently introduced its IT Business Management (ITBM) On Demand solution. BMC’s IT Business Management solutions will help OnDemand Service Cost Management to achieve visibility into the true cost of IT services.

This apart, the new solution possesses features that will make IT Financial Planning and Analysis more effective by improving the speed and reliability of IT financial planning and budgeting cycles. It will also result in project and portfolio management and streamline IT staff, assets and resources with enterprise demand. Moreover, this offers a cost effective solution at reduced cost.

We believe that this new solution will provide valuable information to the CIOs and other business heads, and help them take quick business decisions about how to manage and utilize their resources. This new On Demand delivery software will be offered in a different format, giving IT leaders greater flexibility, agility and the choice to strategically deploy IT Business Management.

Moreover, the company recently rolled out the latest version of its IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), encompassing meaningful changes, which will provide customers a practical framework for identifying, planning, delivering and supporting IT services to the business.

The company is introducing new solutions at regular intervals to woo new customers. Recently, the company unveiled its Middleware Management solutions, which enables customers to manage and monitor middleware across the contemporary data center, allowing IT departments to deliver reliable business services through a more in-depth view of enterprise applications and the transaction paths that make them run.

This new solution is expected to help enterprise IT systems grow and facilitate an in-depth view into application flow paths to clearly understand the transaction flow of an application.

BMC Software continues to win new customers at regular intervals. Apart from new product introductions, acquisitions have expanded BMC’s product portfolio, helping in the development of enhanced solutions.

Growth prospects in most of its business segments, a strong position in the government vertical and robust cash generation abilities are other positives. However, we are a tad apprehensive about the growing competition from big players such as International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ), EMC Corp. (EMC) and CA Inc. (CA), which bundle hardware and software offerings.

BMC currently holds a Zacks #4 Rank, which implies a short-term sell rating.
