ISLANDIA, N.Y., Dec. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CA
Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced it has been named one of
the top two market share leaders in the worldwide cloud systems
management software market by IDC, a leading provider of global IT
research and advice.
According to the Worldwide Cloud Systems Management Software
2011-2015 Forecast Update and 2010 Vendor Shares market analysis
report*, CA Technologies owns 14.7 percent of the market (based on
2010 estimated revenues) and is less than a half percentage point
away from taking the overall lead in this important emerging
segment.
"There is a very tight race among the top three vendors in this
market; together they command nearly 44 percent of the total
market," said Mary Johnston Turner,
Research Vice President, Enterprise System Management Software at
IDC. "This is still a fairly nascent market that IDC expects will
experience rapid growth through 2015, by which time cloud systems
management software capabilities will be on the must-have list for
enterprise and service provider customers alike."
IDC's definition of the cloud systems management software market
spans a range of systems management monitoring, control,
optimization and analytic functionality to the extent it is
deployed into an automated, self-serve, consumption-aware public or
private cloud operations environment.
CA Technologies market share includes revenues from its Nimsoft,
CA AppLogic® software and CA Business Service Insight offerings, as
well as Service Automation products implemented in cloud
environments. This IDC report does not include additional revenue
related to cloud management from the company's Security, Storage
Management, Energy and Sustainability Management, Project and
Portfolio Management, or Application Modeling portfolios, as well
as portions of its Service Assurance and SaaS-delivered solutions
that fall outside IDC's systems management software taxonomy.
"Since early 2010, CA Technologies has been committed to helping
customers transition from managing IT to delivering business
services with the help of cloud computing," said Adam Famularo, general manager, Enterprise and
Cloud Solutions, CA Technologies. "Recognition by IDC as a cloud
systems management market share leader validates our position and
further supports the progress we've made to help our customers
advance in the cloud."
CA Technologies cloud solutions play a key role in helping CIOs
