Recently, Compuware Corporation (CPWR) declared that its professional services automation (PSA) solution, Changepoint, has been adopted by Patheon Inc. The reason behind selecting Changepoint is its best-in-class services and ability to offer suitable resource management and project management solutions.

Headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, Patheon is mainly engaged in providing services related to contract drug development and manufacturing services in the field of the pharmaceutical industry. The company’s solution will help Patheon upgrade its existing pharmaceutical development services (PDS) business segment which mainly provides contract pre-formulation, formulation and analytical development, clinical trial materials manufacturing and clinical packaging.

The company through its Changepoint solution will be involved in managing and augmenting Patheon’s 700- PDS businesses. In addition, by harnessing PSA solutions it will be able to raise its profitability through selecting a proper business process. Compuware’s completely integrated user-friendly solution would thus ameliorate Patheon’s client experience through properly controlling its initial quotation, project delivery and billing interaction processes.

Management averred that the company’s advanced solution would meet Patheon’s requirements easily and improve its businesses through properly managing its range of operations. The company is looking forward to further association with Patheon in future.

Recently, Xigent Solutions has selected CA Technologies’ CA Nimsoft  for its cloud-based monitoring and service management service offerings. Hence, Compuware has to go through rapid technological changes, evolving standards which may turn out to be costly.

The current Zacks Consensus Estimates for the third quarter of fiscal 2013 and for fiscal 2013 are 10 cents per share and 36 cents per share, respectively. The company currently retains a Zacks #4 Rank, which translates into a short-term Sell rating. We also have a Neutral recommendation on the company’s stock.
