Comverge, Inc. (Nasdaq:COMV), the leading provider of Intelligent Energy Management solutions for Residential and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers, today announced it will deliver thousands of Carrier®-branded ComfortChoice® Touch thermostats from United Technologies Electronic Controls, Inc. ("UTEC") this year to TXU Energy for its energy savings solution, the BrightenSM iThermostat. Comverge has fully integrated the Zigbee®-enabled Carrier-branded thermostat with its IntelliSOURCE platform to offer a premium option for two-way communications between TXU Energy customers and their thermostats, providing the insight, convenience and control needed to optimize electricity usage.

The Brighten iThermostat was developed to help TXU Energy customers conserve electricity and save money on their electricity bills. Under the new agreement with Comverge, TXU Energy now offers its customers a new Carrier-branded ComfortChoice touch screen programmable thermostat that electricity customers can use to conveniently adjust the temperature or change the programming from any Web-enabled device.

Customers using Brighten iThermostats also participate in an energy conservation program with TXU Energy in times of extreme electricity demand. The company can leverage the Comverge IntelliSOURCE platform to temporarily cycle off air conditioners during peak consumption hours. Last summer, when a record-breaking heat wave affected parts of Texas for roughly 70 days, the capabilities of the platform proved beneficial as TXU Energy and thousands of Brighten iThermostat customers used it to help reduce strain on Texas' power systems.
