Sophos leverages
Limelight's Orchestrate
("Orchestrate") solution for Software
and Device Manufacturers to publish security updates to millions of
customers
Limelight Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: LLNW), a global leader in
digital content delivery, today announced that Sophos has
transitioned to the new Limelight Orchestrate™ Delivery and Storage
platform to deliver security and identity protection updates every
four hours to millions of customers around the world.
The solutions designed to protect organizations from security
threats are frequently updated to protect increasingly complex
networks and a wide range of types of devices. Sophos analysts
monitor and research potential threats from around the globe as
they happen and respond to new threats at all hours of the day,
every day. They draw upon a multitude of data points to develop new
security definitions in real-time. Keeping pace with downloading
these security updates would be an impossible task without a CDN
that is scalable, reliable and fast.
"We send out security updates to millions of customers around
the world every four hours, every day," said Alastair Pooley, VP Data Centre Operations,
Sophos. "Limelight plays a critical role for us, seamlessly
delivering 400-500 terabytes a month of software updates around the
globe."
"Limelight's Orchestrate solutions combine the services,
architecture and infrastructure Sophos needs to move their software
updates from the cloud to their customers, consistently, securely
and reliably," said Robert Lento,
CEO of Limelight Networks. "We've worked closely with Sophos to
understand exactly how they wanted and needed to use our services,
and executed a flawless migration from their previous vendor."
