NovAtel's Latest Version of ProPak-LBplus Now With Access to OmniSTAR's New XP Satellite Service
22 Novembre 2005 - 10:30PM
Business Wire
NovAtel Inc. (NASDAQ:NGPS), a precise positioning technology
company, announced today that its ProPak-LBplus GPS receiver now
supports OmniSTAR's new XP L-band satellite service. XP is the
latest in a range of satellite correction services offered by
subscription from OmniSTAR. With the latest version 2.31 release,
all ProPak-LBplus products will have the combined capability to
receive the Omnistar XP and Omnistar HP services. Users can then
purchase an Omnistar subscription for the service most appropriate
for their requirements. NovAtel is offering introductory pricing on
new ProPak-LBplus units enabled with either of the XP or HP
services, sold as of November 22, 2005. NovAtel's ProPak-LB+XP/HP
will be available for US$5495, packaged with a dual-frequency
GPS-702L antenna. NovAtel is also offering its ProPak-LB+VBS for
US$3495, including antenna. OmniSTAR is offering a free 60-day XP
subscription for North American customers in conjunction with
NovAtel's promotional pricing. This trial subscription must be
completed by the end of February, 2006, and is only applicable to
new ProPak-LBplus units purchased from NovAtel after November 22,
2005. The ProPak-LBplus is a high-performance positioning engine
designed for easy integration. Coupled with NovAtel's GPS-702L
antenna, the ProPak-LB+XP service provides autonomous 15
centimeter-level accuracy, even in the most challenging
environments. This level of accuracy is achieved without the
additional cost or inconvenience of a user base station and radio
link. "This new product offering gives the real time kinematic
(RTK) GPS user a fully portable 15 centimeter-level positioning
system. This is ideal for applications like Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) data collection, precision agriculture and unmanned
systems," said Pat Fenton, Chief Technology Officer for NovAtel.
"It also supports NovAtel's commitment to provide our customers
with better precise positioning solutions that help them to stay
competitive in their market sector." The ProPak-LBplus is powered
by NovAtel's OEM4-G2 receiver - a small, high performance, dual
frequency GPS engine featuring patented Pulse Aperature Correlator
(PAC) multipath reduction technology. The complementary dual
frequency GPS-702L antenna takes advantage of Pinwheel(TM)
technology to enhance multipath rejection. Signals arriving from
low elevation angles are attenuated, virtually eliminating
positioning errors due to poor signal reflections. About NovAtel
