Pegasus Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:PEGS) announced today a number of
improvements to its central reservation systems (CRSs) to help
customers better manage rates and inventory. Dallas-based Pegasus
is a global leader in providing technology and services to hotels
and travel distributors. The new version of the RezView(R) CRS
includes a major re-design of the way inventory and availability
are displayed with easy-to-use tools including color-coded
calendars and an integrated view of inventory and rates. The new
version also includes single-screen management that provides
"at-a-glance" summaries of room availability and inventory controls
such as closed-to-arrival markers or length-of-stay settings. The
improvements will allow hoteliers to set up unique views by chain,
property or individual user; to configure calendar views to match
business or functional needs; and to customize the views to provide
as much or as little detail as they need. "The flexible displays
complement RezView's sophisticated inventory, rate and revenue
management capabilities and, in combination with automated data
management services, give hotels complete control over their
revenue and distribution strategies," explained Dennis Law, senior
vice president of product management and strategy at Pegasus.
"Alongside the new availability displays, hoteliers will have a
tool which makes it easy to update rates across multiple rate plans
in just one step," Law noted. "These improvements mark the first
stage in a planned overall revision of RezView's rate management
capabilities." Pegasus also announced improvements to its
HotelFactory(TM) CRS, which include a new look that allows users to
display all pertinent information on one screen without having to
scroll down. The improvements will also allow hotels using
HotelFactory to make their rates and inventory available to travel
agents via the "next generation seamless" (NGS) technology being
implemented by the GDSs and to display total pricing -- including
taxes, fees and service charges -- when potential customers inquire
about property's availability. "These new features, which are also
available in the RezView CRS, are yet another step in Pegasus'
announced plans to give hoteliers a complete, real-time, end-to-end
solution for the management and distribution of rates from creation
to sale," said Law. "HotelFactory continues to maintain outstanding
performance levels generating 2.6 million transaction messages per
day with an average response time of 0.17 seconds and an up-time of
99.98%, even after the addition of several major enhancements to
the system such as rates-off-rates, taxes & fees and NGS
technology." Hoteliers can learn more about Pegasus' reservation
services during ITB. Pegasus is exhibiting in hall 8.1, stand 111.
