Jevic to Help Fill 'Stockings for Kids'; Partners with Salvation Army, B101, and NBC10 for Holiday Fundraiser DELANCO, N.J., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- For the third year in a row, Burlington County-based Jevic Transportation, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SCS Transportation (NASDAQ:SCST), will partner with local Philadelphia radio station B101, TV affiliate NBC10, and the Salvation Army for the 9th annual "Stockings for Kids" fundraiser. As the program's official motor carrier, Jevic will pick up toys from designated drop-off locations and deliver them to the Salvation Army for distribution to underprivileged children in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas in time for the holidays. "Jevic is the true backbone of Stockings for Kids," said B101 Event Manager Tim Davis. "Without their tireless efforts over the past three years, the program could not have experienced as much growth as it has. The station distributed empty stockings to Philadelphia-area schools, asking students to help fill the stockings with new toys for needy local children. That first year, thousands of children, parents and teachers contributed over 15,000 stockings, totaling $160,000 in donations. Since then, "Stockings for Kids" has generated over $5 million in toys and donations, and has grown into a movement that includes thousands of individuals, schools, corporations and community groups. The organization's goal this year is to collect over 75,000 toys and stockings (or approximately $1.5 million).
