The iVOS(R) 'One-System' Claims Solution Will Streamline Management
of Auto Claims SAN RAMON, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Valley Oak Systems, Inc., a unit of Aon Corporation (NYSE:AOC) and
a leading provider of insurance technology solutions, today
announced that DaimlerChrysler Insurance Company has implemented
Valley Oak's iVOS system as its "one-system" claims management
solution. DaimlerChrysler Insurance Company (DCIC) is a specialty
insurance company offering property and casualty insurance programs
to automobile dealerships. (Logo:

two primary lines of business -- one for our car dealerships and
another for other insurance programs. Previously, these businesses
required two separate claims systems and two separate IT teams to
support," said Stephanie Sackfield, manager of insurance systems
and support services at DCIC. "By moving to iVOS, we have now
integrated our two businesses onto a single solution, enabling
streamlined operations, simpler system maintenance, and one
centralized data repository." The iVOS claims system offers a wide
array of system capabilities to assist adjusters in processing
claims, including diary, scheduling, document imaging, workflow
management, and automation tools. The system can be customized to
meet an organization's specific claims-management needs. Clients
choose the modules essential to service their unique workflow,
processes and business objectives. iVOS offers the following
efficiencies to DCIC: -- A one-system platform consolidates
comprehensive administrative capabilities, including claims
management, medical bill review, policy administration, event
reporting, document imaging, and case management. -- Browser-based
technology that is native to the Internet that eliminates the need
for middleware and allows updates to occur at the server-level,
rather than individual workstations. -- Advanced tools-such as
Claim Mail, Sticky Note, and Guest Link technology-enable adjusters
to increase paperless workflow and streamline communication. --
Powerful, easy-to-configure business rules automate workflow;
business users simply use drop-down menus and checkboxes, rather
than having to program code. "We are thrilled to have the
opportunity to work with DaimlerChrysler, as this insurance company
is recognized as the industry leader in dealership coverage," said
Randy Wheeler, chief executive officer of Valley Oak Systems. "The
carrier's main objectives were to achieve more streamlined
operations, faster turnaround on claims, and a more paperless work
environment. Toward these goals, iVOS provides a high level of
automation, sophisticated business rules, and integration with the
insurer's document-imaging and other core applications, such as its
vehicle identification number (VIN) system." Sackfield attributed
the success of the implementation to the thorough business and
system analysis performed by both organizations. DCIC and Valley
Oak Systems launched a "deep dive" into business users' needs.
Sackfield adds, "This coordinated communication and sharing of
information allowed our companies to become true business partners,
working toward the same goals in a highly collaborative
environment. In the end, all the right factors came together. Our
action plan for system integration, customization, and data
migration enabled a successful implementation." About
