Dow Jones News
BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired former Alliance Bernstein
executive James Fagan Jr. to manage its sales efforts in the
three-state area in and immediately around metropolitan New
York.
He reports to Thomas Hurlbrink, director of sales for BNY Mellon
Wealth Management's New York region.
Fagan was a financial adviser with Bernstein Global, the
wealth-management segment of Alliance Bernstein, for the past two
years. After a five-year stint - ending in 2005 - as head of
new-business development for Bowne & Co. (BNE) and as chief
executive of its subsidiary Browne Global Solutions, he spent three
years in private equity and consulting.
In a press release, Hurlbrink described the "tri-state" area
that centers on Manhattan as "a key market for serving wealthy
clients," and added that BNY Mellon Wealth Management would soon be
adding more sales staff for this market.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management, part of Bank of New York Mellon
(BK), had about $157 billion under management at the end of March.
The unit recently hired three portfolio managers in Boston.
