Brookfield Mortgage Opportunity Income Fund Inc. (NYSE:BOI) (the "Fund") announced today that the underwriters of its recently completed initial public offering of 21,000,000 common shares, which closed on March 28, 2013, exercised their over-allotment option on May 9, 2013, and purchased an additional 1,706,550 common shares at the public offering price of $20 per common share. The issuance of these additional common shares closed on May 13, 2013, and net proceeds received by the Fund from the sale of these additional common shares were approximately $32,595,105. The Fund intends to use the net proceeds to make additional portfolio investments that are consistent with the Fund's investment objective and policies. The Fund is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "BOI."
