Emergency Medical Services Corporation (NYSE: EMS) today announced that the Company has recently added new services. Its American Medical Response (AMR) subsidiary is expanding its expertise in managing non-emergency transportation to include Medicaid Managed Transportation services. The Company received notice of the award from the Texas Department of Transportation. This award signals the Company's entrance into a developing market currently dominated by a limited number of providers. AMR will provide management of non-emergency transportation services for Medicaid clients in four of Texas' largest geographical service areas covering some of the state's largest population centers. Our extensive call-center network offers clients high-quality, cost-effective medical transportation management services for their patients," Sanger continued. The Company anticipates the Texas contract will contribute annual revenue of approximately $14 million. Nationwide, companies providing NET management services associated with state Medicaid programs generate approximately $750 million in annual revenue. Sanger concluded, "This is a growing opportunity, as more states are outsourcing this needed service to private providers. The Company will continue to respond to RFP's from other states as those opportunities arise."
