Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) today announced that Patrick Randrianarison has been named president – South America. In this capacity, he will have responsibility for leading Eaton’s business in the region with a specific focus on growing sales, transferring best practices, building organizational capability, supporting Eaton’s regional business leaders, and strengthening the Eaton brand throughout the region.

Randrianarison will continue in his current role as president of Eaton’s South America Vehicle Group and will remain based in Valinhos, Brazil.

“Patrick has established a track record of accomplishment in leading our Truck business and, most recently, the combined vehicle businesses in South America over the last few years,” said Craig Arnold, vice chairman and chief operating officer for Eaton’s Industrial Sector. “I look forward to his continued leadership in this expanded role and know that he will be an outstanding partner for our leaders in South America. His regional knowledge and significant operational experience will be especially helpful to Eaton’s electrical and hydraulic businesses as they work to accelerate growth in the region.”

Randrianarison began his Eaton career in 1986 as a manufacturing engineer at the former Eaton truck facility in Saint-Nazaire, France, and held numerous roles in manufacturing, program management and operations before being named plant manager in 1998. In 2001, he became plant manager at the San Luis Potosi, Mexico truck facility, and in 2005 was named director – Quality, Operational Excellence and Operations for the Heavy Duty Transmissions Division in Galesburg, Michigan. He became general manager of the Brazil light and medium duty transmission business in 2007 and, in 2009, was named to lead the Vehicle Group in South America.

Randrianarison holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ecole Centrale Nantes in France, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Institut Francais de Gestion Universite Nantes in France.
