SEATTLE, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc., (NYSE: JWN) announced today plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley in Millbury, Mass. The approximately 33,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in fall 2013.

Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., carrying on-trend merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at 50 to 60 percent off original Nordstrom prices. Nordstrom Rack also offers a wide selection of apparel, accessories, and shoes from many of the brands carried in Nordstrom stores. These items are purchased specially for Nordstrom Rack, with most at savings of 30 to 70 percent off.

"We're excited to have found this terrific location that will enable us to bring the Rack treasure hunt experience to our customers in Millbury and throughout greater Central Massachusetts," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. "We look forward to getting our doors open and serving more of our New England customers."

The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley is an 800,000-square-foot center with a strong mix of tenants including Target, Kohl's, Sephora, Banana Republic, and Marshalls, among others. The new Rack store will occupy the former Wine Nation space.

"WS Development is thrilled to welcome Nordstrom Rack.  Since the grand opening in 2003, The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley has continued to deliver a premium shopping destination to the expansive Central Massachusetts trade area reaching as far south as Rhode Island.  Rack is a key addition to the merchandising of the center and will continue to advance the super-regional draw the property delivers to our existing tenants while best serving the ever growing trade area," said Michael McNaughton, SVP at WS Development.

Nordstrom first came to Massachusetts in 2007 with the opening of its Natick full-line store, and went on to open three more full-line and four Racks, including the recent addition of a new Rack store located just off Newbury Street in Boston's Back Bay.
