SEATTLE, March 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading fashion
specialty retailer Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) today opened the
doors to its first store in Puerto
Rico at The Mall of San
Juan. The two-level, 138,000 square-foot store features the
latest interior and exterior design concepts, three restaurants and
an enhanced beauty experience.
"This is an exciting day for us – we're thrilled to open the
first Nordstrom in Puerto Rico,"
said Manolo González, Nordstrom Mall of San Juan store manager. "We're humbled by the
warm welcome we've received and are going to work hard to take care
of customers here and to offer them an outstanding shopping
experience in our store."
The store houses five shoe departments, expansive cosmetics and
accessories areas and a comprehensive offering of popular brand
names for women, men and children. Customers can find shoes and

In addition to its vast merchandise offering, Nordstrom Mall of
San Juan features the company's
newest design concepts, which incorporate natural light, wood
finishes and other modern updates. Nordstrom also offers services
and amenities including in-store alterations and tailoring,

The store also features three food offerings: Bazille, a
full-service, bistro-style restaurant, Habitant, a bar where
customers can enjoy delicious small plates and handcrafted
cocktails, and the Ebar, which offers specialty coffee drinks and
grab-and-go food options.
Opening day festivities began at 8:00
a.m. with a Beauty Bash hosted by Nordstrom just outside the
store's mall entrance. Customers enjoyed complimentary skincare
consultations, demonstrations and makeup lessons from the store's
team of beauty and fragrance experts. When the first customers
walked through the doors as the store opened at 10:00 a.m., they were greeted by cheers and
applause from more than 600 employees.
Ahead of the store's opening day, Nordstrom hosted and
underwrote the cost of a gala for 1,800 guests. Ticket sales from
the event raised $120,000 for three
local nonprofit organizations: Boys & Girls Clubs de
