Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: NWK), a leading
innovator in VoIP technologies, announced today that they are
showcasing their Quintum Tenor DXi card with a Converged
Application Platform based on the Intel Celeron M Processor 370
operating at 1.5 GHz. The solution is being featured in San
Francisco at the VoiceCon show.
The Converged Application Platform allows application developers
and Independent Software Vendors (ISV) to quickly offer a variety
of applications, such as Unified Communications, and IP PBXs on a
single appliance platform, and can run either Linux or
Windows-based applications with an integrated VoIP capability. The
Tenor DXi operates independently of the application processor, thus
allowing all of the processor resources to be dedicated to the
application, thus improving both efficiency and reliability.
The Tenor DXi Integrated VoIP Gateway supports up to 2 T1/E1/PRI
spans and up to 60 simultaneous VoIP calls. It is built as a full
length PCI Express x1 Adapter Card and integrates all of the
features and functions of the rest of the digital Tenor product
line of VoIP switches and gateways.
"As more companies are focused on developing
communications-based software applications, they are looking for
powerful, yet cost-effective platforms to deliver their solutions,"
said Chuck Rutledge, Vice President of Marketing for NET. "The
combination of the Converged Application Platform and the Tenor DXi
VoIP card provides a powerful convergence appliance."
"Intel's Celeron-based platform enables third-party application
development, integration and delivery," said Bill Tiso, director
and principal engineer for Market Development, Embedded and
Communications Group, Intel Corporation. "When combined with the
Intel Celeron M processor, gateway solutions -- such as Quintum's
Tenor DXi VoIP Gateway Card -- address SMB and distributed
enterprise requirements for a number of simultaneous VoIP
calls."
The Tenor DXi VoIP card will be exhibited in Intel's booth
(#429) in the Moscone Center. People interested in seeing the demo
can contact Quintum at: info@quintum.com.
