Network Equipment Technologies (NYSE: NWK) announced today that Quintum, now a part of NET, has collaborated with Hong Kong-based Deltapath to provide customers worldwide with highly effective, highly manageable software-based IP PBX solutions that meet their evolving needs for functionality, flexibility, and cost-efficiency.

Under the terms of the relationship, Deltapath will exclusively use Tenor VoIP gateways to provide customers of its innovative frSIP IP PBX with PSTN connectivity -- as well as support of their existing analog devices, such as fax machines and embedded modems.

Deltapath's frSIP is a complete advanced software PBX that offers customers a variety of functional and operational advantages over competing solutions, such as Cisco Call Manager.

Deltapath selected Quintum's Tenor gateways after an extensive evaluation of the full range of VoIP-PSTN connectivity products on the market. Tenor gateways offered a variety of critical technical advantages -- including significantly superior echo cancellation -- as well as better overall value.

Tenor gateways also provide robust remote management functionality that Deltapath has integrated into its frSIP platform. This integrated management enables customers to monitor, control, and troubleshoot their entire IP telephony environment from a single console. This integration also enables Deltapath to provide its customers with value-added remote management services -- allowing them to reduce technology ownership costs while ensuring the continuous quality of corporate voice communications.

As part of this value-added service, Deltapath can maintain backups of up-to-date configuration data for customers' PBXs and gateways. This configuration backup service facilitates rapid recovery in the event of a device failure or catastrophic business interruption.

Deltapath has already installed the frSIP-Tenor solution in hundreds of locations worldwide.

"Tenor VoIP gateways have been field-proven to be ideal for inclusion in a complete IP telephony solution that gives our customers the business benefits they seek, while also meeting their IT organizations' requirements for interoperability, manageability, and security," said Deltapath founder and CEO David Liu. "We look forward to working closely with Quintum to provide organizations worldwide with unsurpassed telephony capabilities and a uniquely compelling technology ownership model."

"We are excited to migrate to Deltapath's frSIP PBX platform powered with Tenor gateways," said Joshy George, Group IT Manager of Executive Centre. "The frSIP PBX gives us a centralized control for trunk management/monitoring, call recording, call accounting, CRM interfaces, and reporting all in one single intuitive interface. It is crucial to have one integrated solution in order to simplify our operations and to deliver extraordinary services to our clients."

"With the introduction of its frSIP platform and related support services, Deltapath has established itself as a leading innovator in the IP telephony market," said Chuck Rutledge, Vice President of Marketing at NET. "We are very gratified that our Tenor gateway has been selected to play such a key role in the implementation of this platform -- and that through Deltapath, so many more customers will be able to benefit from its differentiated capabilities."
