Transatlantic stock market operator NYSE Euronext (NYX) Wednesday reported strong year-on-year growth in derivatives trading volumes in February, but said cash equities trading volumes were mixed.

MAIN FACTS:

- February European derivatives volumes increased 44% and U.S. options trading volumes increased 56%.

- European cash transactions increased 9.1% and US cash equities trading volumes declined 36% from prior year elevated levels, NYSE Euronext said.

- Both European and U.S. cash trading volumes, however, remain above fourth quarter 2009 levels, NYSE Euronext said. .
