London Metal Exchange shareholders could vote later this year on a bid from one of CME Group Inc. (CME), IntercontinentalExchange Inc. (ICE), Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. (0388.HK), and NYSE Liffe, the London-headquartered derivatives arm of NYSE Euronext (NYX).

If all of the category one and two members of the LME that hold ordinary shares in the exchange vote in favor of a deal, it would go ahead with a 78% majority. A 75% majority of shares, plus votes from 50% of members, is required for the deal to be successful.

Of the LME's 92 members, the following 34 entities hold ordinary shares and are category one and two members, or have a parent that is a category one or two member.

Several companies in the same membership category only hold B shares in the exchange, which entitle them to trade but not to vote. They are not listed below.
