Today, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) hosted a gathering of women “Changing the Conversation” through an insightful panel and roundtable discussions on the interconnectivity of philanthropy, education, capital development, technology and communication.

The "Changing the Conversation" panel moderated by Rebecca Jarvis, CBS, and including: Reshma Saujani, Founder of Girls Who Code; Kathleen M. Kelley, Founder and CIO of Queen Anne's Gate Capital Management; Mary Whipple, US Olympic Gold Medalist; Dr. Danielle Moss Lee, CEO of YWCA of the City of New York, and Keisha Sutton Hames, VP of Inner City Broadcasting, ring The Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange commemorating International Women's Day on March 8, 2013. The “Changing the Conversation” discussion was moderated by Rebecca Jarvis, CBS and included the following panelists who rang The Opening Bell SM at the NYSE:

  • Reshma Saujani, Girls Who Code, Founder
  • Kathleen M. Kelley, Queen Anne’s Gate Capital Management, Founder and Chief Investment Officer
  • Mary Whipple, US Olympic Gold Medalist and Owner, 9th Seat
  • Dr. Danielle Moss Lee, Chief Executive Officer, YWCA of the City of New York
  • Keisha Sutton James, Inner City Broadcasting (ICBC), Vice President

Seventy-five women comprising unique and diverse backgrounds attended the NYSE thought leadership event, highlighting achievements and contributions women have made in entrepreneurial, social, economic, financial and philanthropic arenas.

Additionally, NYSE Euronext markets in Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris recognized International Women’s Day by opening or closing the trading day on March 8 with female leaders and executives representing various philanthropic and entrepreneurial organizations.
