Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic), the world leader in state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment and communication (IFEC) systems, today announced that US Airways is installing its eX2 system on 15 Airbus A330-200s. The announcement was part of the carrier's initiative to enhance its trans-Atlantic business class service. The first A330 aircraft with the eX2 system entered service in June 2009.

As a result of the upgrade, US Airways passengers will be able to enjoy a dynamic in-flight entertainment system with the features and functionality that are revolutionizing IFEC today. The eX2 system will enable US Airways to tailor the IFEC solution to their specific passenger requirements. Along with in-seat audio and video on demand (AVOD) for the full aircraft, US Airways passengers will be able to choose from movies, television programming, music CDs and a number of applications including:

-- Passenger Surveys - Share thoughts to help the airline improve
    performance
-- PAXUS - A Web-based passenger tracking and usage data analysis tool
-- Voyager Moving Map - Watch real-time flight progress with multiple map
    views and interactive features
-- Games - single-player and multi-player gaming with choices from
    multiple genres

Passengers in US Airways' Envoy will be able to access content and applications via a 12.1" touch-screen monitor or standard handset. Passengers in economy will have 9" touch-screen monitors and a USB port.

"The Panasonic eX2 system offers the very best in a fully digital in-flight entertainment network," said Paul Margis, Chief Executive Officer of Panasonic Avionics Corporation. "As more carriers seek to differentiate their service and optimize the in-flight entertainment experience of their passengers, more and more are turning to the functionality, flexibility and reliability of eX2."
