Building upon the success of last year's 4-blade Multi-Flex™ Wet/Dry Shavers, Panasonic announces the availability of its first two 5-blade men's electric shavers. These flagship models provide a fast, close and comfortable shave through exclusive blade technology and an ergonomic design that reduces pressure on the skin.

The Panasonic Arc5™ shavers (models ES-LV81-K and ES-LV61-A) both employ five hypo-allergenic stainless steel Nanotech™ blades that are micro-polished and honed to sharp, 30-degree angles. Contributing to a smoother shave is a newly-developed Lift-Tech Foil™ that comfortably lifts and guides stubble closer to the blade while the ergonomic Multi-Flex™ Pivoting Head easily maneuvers around tough areas, such as the jaw line and under the chin. The combination of the blades' design and generously-sized pivoting head reduce pressure on the skin by dispersing contact over a larger area thereby decreasing the average pressure on the face by 13.2 percent. The result is not just a more comfortable shave, but shaving time is reduced by approximately one-third compared to a conventional shaver*.

Additional features include:

• Wet/dry usage - Shavers can be used wet or dry making them perfect for multitasking on hectic mornings or a late afternoon touch-up. Can also be used with lather for a smoother glide across the skin.
• Linear motor - Operates at an industry-fastest 14,000 cycles per minute (cpm); the motor will continue to run at full speed until no battery power remains.
• Automatic Cleaning & Charging system (model ES-LV81-K only) - Sanitizes the blades using sonic vibrations in an alcohol-free cleaning solution and dries the shaver so it is ready for the next use.
• Illuminated LCD screen - Indicates how much battery charge is available; a complete charge provides up to two weeks of shaving time.
• Pop-up trimmer - For keeping moustaches and sideburns well groomed.
• Switch-lock button - Locking mechanism prevents the unit from inadvertently turning on, making this an ideal shaver for travelers.
