SECAUCUS, N.J., Dec. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic
Corporation of North America today
announced that Panasonic Industrial Company, its advanced
industrial components and electronic devices sales division, will
be renamed Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Company of America as
of January 1, 2012. Jeff
Howell, who is currently Director of the Electronic Components
Group of Panasonic Industrial Company, will be promoted to
President of the renamed company as of the same date.
Panasonic Industrial Company's products include mainly OEM and
industrial batteries to power a diverse range of devices,
electronics components, optical drives, semiconductors, card
readers, and mechanical devices including compressors and
motors.
The company's name change to Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales
Company of America follows the augmentation of its portfolio to
include the operations and products of Panasonic Electric Works
Corporation of America, which include a wider range of other
electronics devices.
Mr. Howell, a 21-year veteran
of Panasonic's industrial business, will lead Panasonic Industrial
Devices Sales Company of America from the company's base in
Secaucus, NJ. Mr.
Howell succeeds Tom Gebhardt, who currently leads Panasonic
Industrial Company as President, but will take on the position of
President of PNA's Peachtree City,
GA-based Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America
division on January 1st.
