Financial-services company Block Inc., formerly known as Square Inc., said that Chief Executive Jack Dorsey requested his title change to Block head and chairperson, effective April 20.

The company said there will be no changes in Mr. Dorsey's roles and responsibilities and that he will continue to serve as principal executive officer.
